2023 Tempranillo
Tasting notes
Tempranillo has been one of my favorite varietals to enjoy for many years. When I started this project, I knew I had to do a service to this varietal to make it the best we possible could and I think we more than met that goal. This full-bodied Tempranillo starts with the intense color of dark garnet. After fermentation, it was aged 18 months in new American Oak. While aging the wine picked up the primary aromas of baking spices and white pepper with hints of woodsmoke. The flavors are layered, starting with blackberries, plums, anise, and vanilla. The well integrated tannins help to leave flavors of tobacco, leather, and cloves lingering on the palate.
